Oliver Ristau lives and works in Hamburg. His interest for renewable energies was aroused during his studies of Political Science, Economy and Geography at the University of Hamburg. His degree dissertation 1996 was about a comparison of the economic, political and technical situation in Germany, Japan und the U.S. concerning the dissemination of solar (photovoltaic) power. Two years later he released a book about the comparison of solar policy and economy in Germany and the EU, Japan and the U.S. for a wider public. He works as a journalist since 1995 for news agencies, newspapers and magazines. The main subjects of his work concern the political and economical situation, the energy system and the renewable energies sector in Germany, Europe and the rest of the world. He also deals with the complexity of capital markets and the stock-exchange reporting about quoted companies and the financial market. Moreover he consults companies and public institutions that are engaged in the renewable energy branch.
